1997 Suzuki Cervo Mode
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1997 Suzuki Cervo Mode compact hatchback isn’t common in the U.S., which makes it very attractive to enthusiasts looking to stand out from the crowd. Part of the fourth generation of the Suzuki Cervo lineup (1990-98), the Mode belongs to the kei car category, a popular segment in Japan that's known for its small size, fuel efficiency, and affordability.
The ’97 edition features a water-cooled 657cc F6A three-cylinder engine that produces approximately 52 horsepower at 7000 rpm. The limited engine displacement and power output ensure low emissions and high fuel efficiency, and the Cervo Mode delivered 42 mpg (67.6 kpg) when new, making it an attractive option for urban commuters. The JDM car was available with either a three-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.
Stylistically, the four-wheel-drive Mode featured a short aerodynamic body with a distinctive front grille and compact dimensions — wheelbase of 91.92 inches, overall length of 129.72 inches, and curb weight of 600 kilograms (1,477 pounds). The minimalistic interior was designed to maximize space and comfort.
This right-hand-drive 1997 Suzuki Cervo Mode was legally imported from Japan in December 2024 and carries a clean Virginia title. It has received several maintenance updates to ensure that it is mechanically sound.

Ownership History
This 1997 Suzuki Cervo Mode was imported to the U.S. from Japan in December 2024. The consignor says, “Although it's not fast, it is quick and light and a blast to drive. You will never have so much fun going slow. This car turns heads, is very economical, and a lot of fun to drive. Paint is not great, but there is zero rust on the car or undercarriage.”
