1996 Chevrolet Tahoe 2-Door 4×4
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Chevrolet's introduction of the Tahoe in 1994 followed GMC's lead, as the latter had already debuted its Yukon in 1991. Built on a 117.5-inch wheelbase shared with Chevrolet's short-box pickup, the Tahoe was available in both two-door and four-door configurations. Power came from a standard Vortec 5.7-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, while a 6.5-liter turbodiesel was also available on two-door 4×4 models. Trim levels ranged from the base model to the luxurious LT, which featured leather seating surfaces and numerous creature comforts. The four-door variant quickly dominated sales, accounting for 85 percent of Tahoes sold by 1999—making two-door, 4×4 models uncommon and highly sought after today.
