Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The BMW Z3, produced from 1995 to 2002, offered as a two-door roadster or a two-door coupe, was the first mass-produced Z Series car and the first BMW model manufactured exclusively outside of Germany, produced in Greer, South Carolina. Based on the E36 3-Series platform with rear semi-trailing arm suspension from the E30 3 Series, it showcased versatility with straight-sixes or four-cylinder engines and automatic or manual transmissions. Development led by Burkhard Göschel began in 1991, with exterior design by Joji Nagashima completed in mid-1992, and production starting on September 20, 1995. The Z3, whose 'Z' stands for “Zukunft” or future in German, serves as both a forward-looking model and the spiritual successor to the BMW 507 roadster from the 1950s. Designed for high-speed luxury cruising, its near-perfect weight distribution ensures sharp, sports car-like handling, perfect for twisty roads.
