34K-Mile 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS
Description
Car manufacturers can surprise you. And in 1994, GM enthusiasts were thrilled when the coveted Impala SS returned for a three-year run. GM designers knew that just slapping badges onto a two-ton, tame-looking, and tardy B-body Caprice wouldn’t have worked. So they revised the Caprice’s rear wheel opening and rear quarter glass, integrated a small rear spoiler, added a single-bar front grille and unique badges, and painted the body black. When finished, the Impala SS looked simply sinister.
To back up that attitude, Chevy dropped in a detuned version of the Corvette’s powerful LT1 V8, along with a four-speed automatic calibrated for firm shifts and a strong differential with positraction. And the suspension was also enhanced, with monotube shocks backed up by springs and stabilizer bars stolen from the Police Package Caprice. Factor in the massive brakes hidden by 17-inch alloy wheels wearing sticky ZR-rated rubber, and it was clear: Chevy was serious about big-body performance. And the all-black Impala SS got even better in 1995 with green and burgundy paint options.
This 1995 Impala SS is one of only 7,134 painted in Dark Cherry, has only logged 34,381 miles since new, and has been meticulously maintained for its next owner.
