Description

The Mustang’s 30th anniversary was celebrated with the long-awaited replacement for the 15-year-old, third-generation pony. Code named SN-95, this Mustang was 80 percent new, and design director Patrick Schiavone even brought back some design elements of the original Mustang.

Performance enthusiasts were pleased with the SVT Cobra, as its deep-breathing 5.0-liter V8 churned out an additional 25 horses over the GT. And the Cobra was also available as a convertible for the first time, which was chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500. All Cobra convertibles were called “Indy 500 Pace Car Replicas” and included E8 Rio Red paint, a rear decklid badge, serialized dash plaque, and dealer-installed Official Indy 500 Pace Car graphics. Ford sold all of the planned Cobras that year, 5,009 coupes and only 1,000 Pace Car convertibles.

Ownership History

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this eight-owner 1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible in Michigan, Florida, Ohio, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The consignor states that he has owned it for 14 years, put 9,000 miles on it, and recently had one of the convertible top hydraulic motors replaced. He states that it’s a very fun car to drive.
