1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible Walk Around & Drive
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Mustang received a facelift in 1987 to kick off the third generation of Ford's iconic pony car, and by 1992 the automaker was producing the most refined and final versions of its “Fox Body” Mustang.
Most of the car’s major changes, both visually and mechanically, had taken place five years earlier — most notably when Ford stylists gave the car an “Aero” look. Minor changes on 1992 LX models included color-keyed bodyside moldings. Whitewall tires and wire-wheel covers were removed from the options list, but the new-for-1991 holdovers for ’92 included a revised convertible roof that allowed the top to fold closer to the body and 16-inch five-spoke “star” alloy rims that came with all V8-equipped models. A 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine was the base offering for ’92, but an optional 5.0-liter V-8 provided 225 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. Transmission choices were five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.
Of the 79,280 Ford Mustangs sold in 1992, few exist in the condition of this low-mileage 1992 Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible, which has been meticulously maintained by five different owners in Florida and Georgia.
