31k-Mile 1991 GMC Suburban 1500 SLE
Description
The 1991 GMC Suburban 1500 SLE is part of the seventh generation of Chevrolet and GMC Suburbans, which were produced from 1973 to 1991. This generation marked a significant evolution in the Suburban’s design and functionality, transitioning from a utilitarian vehicle to a more family-friendly SUV with enhanced comfort and features with a more aerodynamic shape improving fuel efficiency and reducing wind noise.
The rear-drive Suburban 1500 is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 perfect for both everyday driving and heavy-duty tasks mated to a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Interiors on the SLE models featured Custom Cloth upholstery along with full-length floor carpeting, sport steering wheel, power door locks, auxiliary lighting package and simulated woodgrain accents. And, of course, something few other wagons at the time could offer: Up to eight passenger seating with a flexible layout.
Even after 18 years of evolution, GMC could proclaim, “Suburban continues to be the one wagon you can count on for genuine full-size space, comfort, strength and power.” There really was nothing else like it at the time, and few remain today in mostly original condition showing 30,941 miles from new.
