Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Following its launch in 1975, Jaguar’s flagship GT gradually matured over the succeeding decade and a half, receiving numerous styling updates, higher-efficiency six and twelve-cylinder engines, and a fixed-roof targa body style by 1983. A factory convertible followed in 1988, removing the controversial flying buttresses at the rear and creating a truly open-air motoring experience. In 1986, Cambridge-based Lister Cars began offering heavily modified XJ-Ss sold as Lister-Jaguar “Le Mans,” in addition to offering existing XJ-S owners a number of high-performance modifications. This particular XJ-S Convertible is said to have been modified under previous ownership by Lister North America with a Getrag five-speed manual transmission, revised gearing, and a body kit featuring ground effect moldings and a rear spoiler. Other modifications to this unique XJ-S include a replacement 6.0-liter V12 upgraded by Hyper Engineering, stiffer anti-roll bars, stainless steel exhaust manifolds, lightened flywheel, and upgraded brake discs. A potent and uncommon package, this Lister-modified 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Convertible represents the ultimate way to experience Jaguar’s world-class grand tourer.
