1990 Ferrari 348 ts

Description
Ferrari introduced the 348 in 1989 as a long-awaited successor to the 308/328 series, which had been in production since 1976. A dramatic departure from its predecessor, the 348 took styling cues from the Testarossa, with its side-mounted radiators and strakes, while having a longitudinally mounted engine with a transverse gearbox. The final V8 model developed under the direction of Enzo Ferrari before his death (commissioned to production posthumously), it was considered the first reliable "every day" Ferrari, with superb handling, steering and braking.
The car’s mid-engine arrangement mimicked the layout of Ferrari’s F1 cars at the time and looked like a “T” in plan form. The design helped centralize mass between the wheels (and explains the T designation; the coupe was the 348 TB, and the Targa-topped version was the 348 TS). The 3.4 liter four-cam V8 made 300 horsepower and propelled the car to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds on the way to a top speed of 171 mph. Standard anti-lock brakes afforded equally impressive stopping abilities. The Coupe and the Targa were largely unchanged through the end of 1992.

Ownership History
According to the accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this 1990 Ferrari 348 TS was purchased new on 21 January 1991 in Dallas, Texas. It remained in the Lone Star State until July 1999, then moved on to Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. It currently resides in Lake Bluff, Illinois, where its owner purchased it from an authorized dealer in September 2021. The odometer shows 33,637 original miles, an average of less than 1,000 miles per year. Seller advises: “Traditional Ferrari gearbox — shifts better as the gearbox warms, treat neutral as a separate gear and pause when passing through, first gear only needed when at a complete stop.”
