Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Cadillac gave the De Ville series a refresh in 1989 — at the midpoint of its sixth generation — and the changes resulted in what its marketers called, “A luxury car that shares your priorities.” All De Villes remained on the C-body front-wheel drive platform, but the surrounding bodywork changed substantially. One big change to note was the use of composite materials in the front fenders, which resisted damage better than sheet metal.
Previously optional equipment that became standard for ’89 included electrically powered outside mirrors and the AM/FM/cassette player stereo. New options included a driver's side airbag, Bose compact disc player, an electrically heated windshield, and full reversible carpeted floor mats.
“This extraordinary luxury coupe refines its personal character for 1989,” Cadillac proclaimed in its dealership sales brochure. “With a new, longer, aerodynamic shape and accommodating full-size, six-passenger elegance. Sportier lines. An even larger trunk. And responsive 4.5-liter V8 power ... The advanced, contemporary 1989 De Ville offers more reasons than ever to own a Cadillac.”

Ownership History
This two-owner 1989 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was purchased new on 1 April 1989 from Waddell Cadillac in Salina, Kansas. After the first owner passed away in 1995, the car remained garaged for the next 25 years except for an occasional start-up and short drive by her daughter and son-in-law. The current owner purchased the car on 21 June 2019, also in Salina, after the sellers had the brakes, transmission, power steering, and cooling systems flushed and replaced the serpentine belt. The current owner replaced the roof liner and side panels with OEM materials, installed new brake wheel cylinders, and converted the A/C to R-134 refrigerant. He has driven the car only 5,000 miles in five years, and it is still stored in the same garage as it has been since new.
