Description
With the muscle car era ended in the early 1970s, a new era of American performance cars was just beginning. In 1978, Buick's freshly revised Regal coupe could be optioned with a turbocharged V6 engine. The car was continually refined as production continued, but more importantly, performance continued to improve. Unlike the blacked-out Grand National, the Turbo-T offered the same engine, with the only visual clues to its performance being turbo vane wheels, a sporty steering wheel, and a turbo boost gauge. 1987 would mark the highest output, allowing the Turbo-T to sprint to 60 in just 6.1 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 13.85 seconds at 99.2 mph. The Buick Regal Turbo-T blended subtle styling, superb comfort, and stellar performance perfectly.
