Description

The Porsche 944, introduced in 1982, was developed from the Porsche 924 model which was released in the mid-1970s. The 944 had a 2+2 seating configuration, with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. It was one of the first "transaxle" cars that provided a practical everyday driving experience with a sporty feel. The sleek and aerodynamic design of the 944 had box fender flares and pop-up headlights that were both distinctive features of the era. Under the hood, the 944 was powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. The engine, along with a balanced chassis and precise handling, provided an exhilarating driving experience. The luxury interior, strong performance, and superb handling made the 944 a popular car. Its introduction in 1982 marked a turning point in Porsche's history, as it bridged the gap between the iconic 911 and a new generation of sports cars.
