Original-Owner 1985 Chevrolet C10 Suburban Silverado
Description
Chevrolet Suburban made inroads in the truck-based wagon market in the 1970s by successfully pulling in new buyers who would have otherwise been car owners. Among the Suburban’s attractive features were car-like options like air conditioning, power windows, tilt steering column, and luxurious interior trim.
As the 1980s arrived, the Suburban’s exterior styling was revised with a simplified front clip, new hood, and single-plane grille, and the vehicle was updated again for 1985 with a new grille and headlamp bezels. The Suburban’s value went far beyond its looks, however. Chevrolet advertising touted, “Suburban: Power to tow, room to grow,” which focused on the four-door utility’s 5.7-liter V8 engine and roominess. While the ’Burb offered seating for nine, it could be converted into a large cargo hauler by removing the rear bench seat and folding down the middle one, increasing the available space to 165 cubic feet.
Chevy also touted the ’85 Suburban’s toughness, as it was built on the same rugged truck frame utilized by its full-size pickups and featured double-wall construction in doors and front bumpers and high-capacity front and rear axles.
This one-owner 1985 C10 Suburban Silverado two-wheel-drive utility features an optional wagon-style tailgate and high-back bucket seats up front.
