Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Audi established itself in the North American market with a series of conservatively-styled sedans featuring sophisticated front-wheel drive, fuel injection, and an odd number of cylinders under the hood. The flagship Audi 5000, known to the rest of the world as the Audi 100, entered its second generation in 1976, powered by a five-cylinder engine in gasoline and diesel varieties. Audi’s positioning as a luxury brand in the United States meant that the majority were delivered with the upscale “S” equipment package, including air conditioning, light-alloy wheels, central locking, power windows, and more. An uncommon sight in the United States today, these early Audis offer handsome styling and all the amenities befitting a cutting-edge 1980s luxury sedan.
