Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Thanks to its combination of sleek styling, V8 power, and handling prowess, the Chevrolet Corvette’s popularity exploded during the 1970s, with production tripling from 17,316 in 1970 to 53,807 in 1979.
The 1977 C3 — offered only in coupe form for the second consecutive year — was equipped with a 350 cu-in V8 engine in two performance levels and was available with a close-ratio M21 four-speed gearbox or a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
The Corvette’s interior saw various updates, including leather seats that came as standard (leather with cloth inserts was a no-cost option), a new center console for the heater and air conditioning, and slightly more room between the driver and steering wheel. While the 'Vette’s iconic T-tops offered open-air enjoyment, ’77 was the last year with its “sugar scoop” rear window.
This 1977 Chevrolet Corvette has been modified to reflect a past owner’s idea of what the car should have been all along. Among the upgrades are a 425-horsepower GM Performance ZZ383 V8 crate engine with Tremec five-speed manual transmission, side exhaust, custom C4 Corvette-style rear end (fiberglass bumper treatment), digital gauges, and a modern stereo system.
