Description
1973 marked the final year of the first-generation Mustang. Outselling the 1972 model year, the 1973 Convertible would be the last Mustang convertible offered until its revival in 1983. A range of engine options was available to satisfy nearly every buyer, from a 250 cu-in inline-six to the top-of-the-line 351 cu-in Cobra Jet V8. Over 90 percent of 1973 Mustangs were ordered with the "Cruise-O-Matic" automatic transmission; the standard option was the three-speed manual, leaving just 2.9 percent with a factory-equipped four-speed manual transmission, just like the car on offer. Supported by a devout group of enthusiasts, Mustangs like this 1973 Convertible remain popular today.
