Description
Hagerty Marketplace is honored to offer a selection of vehicles from the SugarCreek Collection. This private collection in southeastern Ohio is supported by its own in-house restoration and maintenance shop, with a full-time staff of craftsmen. The garage is a true spectrum of car enthusiast dreams, ranging from unfinished restorations to the most recent SEMA-exhibited 1,000 horsepower 1962 Dodge Power Wagon. Sixteen select cars from the collection are being offered in time for the holidays. Whether awaiting restoration, preserved showroom stock, restored to like-new, or tastefully modified, these cars and trucks are truly SugarCreek quality.
Debuting in 1967 and running through 1972, Second-generation C/K Series Chevrolet trucks have become instant classics. Starting with a carlike design in 1967, Harry Bradley’s innovative C Series gradually changed over its six-year run: the hood became more upright, the sleek grille changed to an egg-crate style, and the parking lights moved to the bumper.
As in previous years, the 1972 two-wheel drive “C” and four-wheel drive “K” models had many configurations. Fleetside or Stepside bodies, with 6 ½- or 8-foot beds corresponding to 115- or 127-inch wheelbases. A 250 cu-in inline six-cylinder, and 307-, 350-, or 402 cu-in V8s. And three- or four-speed manuals, or a Hydramatic automatic transmission. But comfort is what separates this generation from its predecessors: unlike those bouncy farm trucks, the second-generation C/K Series’ coil springs and ladder frame created a smooth ride. And the power and convenience options made a truck cab a desirable place to be.
This 1972 K10 is ready for on- and off-road fun with a 350 cu-in V8 crate engine, a 4x4 system, and 35-inch tires. The interior features power steering, power brakes, and a full suite of gauges. And its orange paint, cowl hood, and chrome rims will definitely draw attention at the local car shows.
