Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Champion road racer Tony DeLorenzo helped Motor Trend magazine test a base model Corvette for 1972.  “You can’t get a better overall performance car,” DeLorenzo declared. “I’d be hard-pressed to find a better car, for the money, than the Vette.”

Introduced for the 1968 model year, the third generation (C3) Corvette Stingray featured either a T-Top Coupe or Convertible model, the exterior design characterized by voluptuous fender flares and vacuum-operated pop-up headlights. It also delivered a completely redesigned interior with an aircraft inspired instrument cluster. Utilizing the well-proven chassis components from the C2, the C3 offered independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a slate of three powerful V8 engines, the 1972 were the last of the breed before the “malaise era” sapped it of horsepower and the original chrome bumper look.

This 1972 Stingray Coupe features the standard 350 cu-in V8 engine producing 200 net horsepower through a M21 Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Originally finished in that Seventies favorite, Ontario Orange, this Corvette has been resprayed an attractive red over a Black vinyl interior. This C3 Coupe also features that pioneering T-Top roof, allowing both enclosed comfort and open-air enjoyment while relishing the Corvette’s performance.
