1970 Porsche 911 T Coupe
Description
As classic European sports cars go the early “longhood” Porsche 911 is about as classic as they come. Available with a variety of engine sizes, two different body styles, and a seemingly endless amount of fantastic color choices, the 911 - especially in coupe form - is the result of Porsche’s tireless efforts to improve the breed through racing. Constructed with competition-level technology, Porsche endowed the 911 with forged aluminum wheels, dry-sump lubrication, torsion bar suspension, a dog-leg transmission, and a lightweight magnesium engine case. Truly fantastic stuff!
As a result of their sporty nature and competition breeding, many early 911s have been modified in all manner of ways with original, preserved examples rarer with each passing year. This 911 T coupe from 1970, is one such example that continues to wear much of its original paint and features a largely original interior preserved by its second owner during 43 years of long-term ownership beginning in 1980.

Ownership History
Produced on November 1969, this well-preserved 1970 911 T Coupe was originally purchased by John Horsfall from Prestige Motors, Inc. Of Paramus, New Jersey. Trading in a 1969 Rover 2000 TC (quite the upgrade!) the total for his new 911 T Coupe was $7,068.55. It features only three owners with paperwork assisting to trace the lineage from the first owner, Horsfall who retained the car until September 1980, selling it to Dr. Dan Gilbert III. Dr. Gilbert III kept this 911 T for a remarkable 43 years. During their long-term ownership the car was admired by a close friend, the current owner and consignor, who purchased the car in 2023 at 81,527 miles who relays that there has been a yearly service recently conducted.
