1969 Ford Mustang Convertible Walk Around
Description
Lot #2180 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible Chassis No. 9T03F164938 In 1969, Ford unveiled a bold redesign of the Mustang, transforming it into a more imposing and muscular automobile. The vehicle's body was stretched by 3.8 inches and widened by nearly half an inch, crafting a broad, shark-like, and aggressive stance. This model year was particularly notable for introducing quad headlamps, positioned both inside and outside the front grille opening, enhancing its fierce appearance. The iconic corralled grille pony emblem was replaced with an off-center pony and tribars logo. Additionally, the car's design featured convex side panels, a departure from the previous concave designs, further emphasizing its bold and dynamic aesthetic. This 1969 Mustang Convertible has undergone a series of sporting, period-correct enhancements. The car is finished in red, complemented by a recently reupholstered white vinyl pony interior, complete with bucket seats. It also features an optional deluxe wood grain instrument panel, a newly replaced convertible top, and an updated sound system. Equipped from the factory with a stock 302cu-in Windsor, the engine has received several upgrades, including an MSD ignition and an Edelbrock top-end kit, which features a larger Holley Avenger carburetor, intake manifold, aluminum heads, camshaft, timing chain, and head bolts. These enhancements are said to increase the stock performance figures to 367 horsepower at a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Wilwood disc brakes have been added and handling improvements have been made as well. Accompanied by a build specification sheet, this 1969 Ford Mustang showcases a blend of modern amenities and period correct modifications.
