1968 Barracuda Fastback Walk Around and Ride Along Video
Description
The second-generation Plymouth Barracuda underwent a significant redesign, featuring model-specific sheet metal while continuing to share components with the Valiant. Riding on a 108 inch wheelbase A-body, it was offered in convertible, notchback coupe, and fastback designs. Spearheaded by John E. Herlitz and John Samsen, the new Barracuda boasted Coke-bottle side contours and extensively revamped front and rear ends. Notable design revisions included wider wheel openings, curved side glass, and S-curved roof pillars on the hardtop variant. The fastback coupe showcased a more streamlined roofline with a steeper rake, accompanied by a smaller flush rear window, departing from the original model's distinctive wraparound design. With new styling parried with a range of sporting engines, the Barracuda offered a compelling option to buyers when new and continues in that same spirit today.
