Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The Chevrolet Corvette (C2), the second generation of the iconic sports car produced by General Motors from 1963 to 1967, marked a new era in design and performance. The 1963 Sting Ray, an evolution from GM's Q-Corvette project and Bill Mitchell's racing Sting Ray, showcased innovation with its rear transaxle, independent rear suspension, and inboard-mounted four-wheel disc brakes, all wrapped in a design featuring peaked fenders, a long, sleek nose, and a compact, bobbed tail. Chevrolet offered an extensive array of options for the Sting Ray, ensuring no two Corvettes were alike: buyers could choose between the stylish coupe and the more popular convertible bodies, select from four engines ranging from the milder 327 cu-in to the potent 427 cu-in power plants, and opt for either a three-speed manual, a preferred four-speed manual, or a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Comfort was also a priority, with features such as air conditioning and an AM/FM radio available, alongside a dazzling spectrum of colors and interior choices to tailor each Corvette to its owner's personal taste.

This Nassau Blue 1966 Sting Ray convertible, powered by its matching numbers 300 hp 327 with four-speed manual transmission, is offered from nearly 50 years of ownership.
