Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Impala model was launched in 1958 as Chevrolet’s flagship performance hardtops and convertibles. By 1962 it had established itself not only as a potent street machine, but a star in stock car and super stock competition. The Sport Coupe models now also featured “convertible roof” styling. Not only one of the most popular models from Chevrolet, but the Impala SS also uniquely received the largest engines as well. The 409 cu-in big block monster available in the SS Impala in street configuration developed over 380 horsepower and when paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and sending the power to the ground through a limited slip differential, the Impala SS could leap from zero to 60 mph in less than seven seconds.
As real fine as the 409 was, it’s no match for the modern LS-series V8 engine and 700R4 four-speed automatic found in this reimaged ’62 Impala SS Sport Coupe. Also featured are suspension mods from Miami Chassis and Corvette front disc brakes, and rides on Billet Specialties wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. It’s a great mix of modern “go” wrapped in a showstopper ’62 Chevy Impala SS.
