Description

The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet, part of the “W180” series, was a distinguished model produced from 1958 to 1960. It followed the 220 a and 220 S, marking a shift to unibody construction and offering enhanced comfort and performance. The 220 SE Cabriolet came equipped with a 2.2-liter inline-six with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. It was aimed at buyers seeking both luxury and performance, evident in its richly finished interior with wood and leather, and its stylish design, which included distinctive wraparound windshields and chrome trim. The Coupe and Cabriolet versions showcased more elaborate trim and offered fresh two-tone paint options catering to the American market’s tastes. Production was notably limited, with only 1,200 cabriolets and coupes produced. This rarity, coupled with its high-quality craftsmanship and luxurious features, has cemented the 220 SE Cabriolet's status as a highly desirable classic car among collectors and enthusiasts.
