1955 Dodge M37 CDN Pickup Truck Engine Idle
Description
The Dodge WC and WD series are among the most iconic trucks ever produced. These vehicles supported the ubiquitous GPW Jeep during World War II, tackling more demanding roles across all Allied fronts with remarkable efficacy. Post-war threats from Korea and the Soviet Union prompted the U.S. military to seek an updated medium-duty 4x4. Dodge responded with the M37, entering production in 1950. It retained the reliable 230 cu-in flathead straight-six engine along with a two-speed transfer case, four-speed manual transmission, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. The M37's adaptable platform allowed for various configurations, including cargo and personnel carriers, ambulances, and fire rescue trucks. The highly customized example offered here showcases the enduring appeal of these robust military classics.
