1949 Studebaker Land Cruiser Walk-Around and Ride-Along
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Under the watch of visionary designer Virgil Exner, Studebaker’s incredibly innovative 1947 line of vehicles was launched with the slogan “First by far with a post-war car.” Showcasing such cutting-edge design elements as a large four-part wrap-around rear window on the Starlight Coupe and large rear-hinged “suicide doors” on the luxurious Land Cruiser, Studebaker had forced other American manufacturers to play catch-up. Riding on a 123-inch wheelbase, the large, streamlined Land Cruiser was aptly named, as it was Studebakers largest vehicle with room to comfortably accommodate six adults. Only around 14,000 Land Cruisers were produced for the 1949 model year, making them highly sought after today by Studebaker enthusiasts for their unique appearance and great club support through the Studebaker Driver’s Club.
