Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

International Harvester introduced their first truck in 1909, and over the years IHC’s triple-diamond logo became widely associated with tough, hard-working vehicles. By 1940 International offered more than 50 different truck models, including the new K-series pickup line, introduced at mid-year. After WWII the 1947-1949 International KB-2 pickup was an evolution of the original K-series. Inside the utilitarian interior offered adjustable bench seat and complete instrumentation. A passenger glovebox matched the oblong instrument panel. Solid axles front and rear were supported by semi-elliptic leaf springs and Lovejoy refillable shock absorbers. The KB-2 was powered by International’s “Green Diamond” six, a 214 cu-in flathead producing 82 horsepower at 3,400 rpm, plenty of dependable power for a work vehicle. So dependable, by 1952, International could still claim that over half the vehicles it ever built were still in service. Maybe that’s why this 1948 International Harvester KB-2 from Arizona is still going strong!
