1946 Chevrolet 3100 Series 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck
Please note that the introduction paragraph has been updated.
Description
The Chevrolet AK Series, produced from 1941 to 1947, encompassed a lineup of pickup trucks that utilized the GM A platform, which it shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. This series marked a departure from previous Chevrolet models, where both passenger cars and pickup trucks had a similar appearance, exemplified by the Chevrolet Master truck. The introduction of the Chevrolet Deluxe in 1941 brought forth a new aesthetic, sharing many mechanical components with the third-generation Chevrolet Suburban. Notably, the AK Series represented a shift towards dedicated truck designs within General Motors, departing from the car-based truck models of the past. Eventually replaced by the Advance-Design, the AK Series left its mark as a significant step in the evolution of Chevrolet's pickup truck lineup.
