1937 Rolls Royce 25/30HP Park Ward Landaulette Cold Start Video
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Unveiled at the 1929 Olympia Motor Show, the Rolls-Royce 20/25HP updated the firm’s entry-level model with significant improvements adopted from the larger Phantom II, including its synchromesh gears and centralized chassis lubrication. It proved to be the firm’s best-selling interwar model, prompting the introduction of the even more powerful 25/30HP model by 1936, with a displacement of 4,257 cc and an output of approximately 115 horsepower. Like its predecessors, the 25/30HP was only made available as a rolling chassis, resulting in a wide variety of coachbuilt bodies like the Park Ward Landaulette offered here. According to documentation provided by the Rolls-Royce Foundation, this 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30HP was originally sold on 12 October 1936 to John Croall & Sons of Castle Terrace, Edinburgh for Rossleigh Limited, with the coachbuilder and body style listed as a Park Ward Enclosed Landaulette. Today, chassis number GUN2 remains clothed in handsome four-door Landaulette bodywork finished in black over a black leather interior, offering its next owner a luxurious pre-war motoring experience.
