Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

This very special collection is offered from Dr. Karl Peace, an esteemed collector dedicated to the Studebaker marque. Following his donation, in its entirety, of his car collection to the Georgia Southern University Foundation, the collection is offered, entirely without reserve, via Hagerty Marketplace.

Times were tough during the Great Depression. Cars like the 1936 Ford Model 68 Fordor Sedan kept America on wheels with reasonable prices, comfortable interiors, and a bit of style. But just five years after this Ford was built the US entered World War II, and with civilian automobile production halted for the war effort, cars like this Ford had to last years longer. Thankfully they were up to the task.

Improving upon one of the most significant automobiles ever produced by the Ford Motor Company, the 1936 Ford V8 was unveiled with updated styling offering customers a longer front hood, distinctive radiator grille, and newly redesigned fenders and wheels provided an imposing road presence. Performance was equally modern as the “Ford stands out because it gives you the finest type of eight-cylinder engine, the Ford V-8.” Offered with a variety of body styles and trim levels, the De Luxe variant was one of the premium options available with comfortable seating, stylish instrument panels, and various luxury amenities for the time.  Generations of owners have come and gone, but this restored 1936 Ford De Luxe Fordor Sedan still stands out.
