1932 Ford Roadster Pickup Hot Rod
Description
Ford introduced the flathead V8 engine in 1932, but the "Deuce" models would later grow in popularity not because of that technological advancement but because they provided the perfect canvas for customizers, who often installed V8 engines and turned them into hot rods.
Ford’s 1932 Model B lineup included coupes, sedans, roadsters, and a roadster pickup, which combined the practicality of a truck with the stylish design of its siblings. The pickup featured a sleek, streamlined design with a distinctive grille and fenders that reflected the automotive trends of the period. Under the hood, it could be had with either a four-cylinder Model B engine or the new 65-horsepower V8.
This one, of course, has changed considerably from when it rolled out of Henry Ford’s factory. The custom ’32 Roadster Pickup is powered by a modern Chevy 350 V8 that is mated to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Among its numerous upgrades are a Ford 8-inch rear end with drum brakes and coilover rear suspension; Pete & Jakes dropped buggy spring front end with chrome hairpins and So-Cal front brakes that feature hidden Wilwood discs; Stewart Warner gauges; and a tan paint job and custom tan leather interior with red accents.
