2001 BMW Z3 Coupe 3.0i Engine Idle
Description
With its introduction, the compact Z3 roadster marked BMW’s return to the traditional sports car market. The car steadily evolved from its initial four-cylinder offering to include a range of six-cylinder options. This continual improvement included expanding the range of offerings to include a sporting coupe. These coupes offered the same wonderful driving characteristics of the roadster but with the added practicality of a hatchback. With continuous improvement, BMW introduced new engines, a sportier automatic transmission, and further equipment upgrades in 2001 with the Z3 Coupe and Roadster receiving the same new 3.0-liter engine, plus new 17 inch wheels to house larger front brakes. Interior design upgrades introduced in the Roadsters for 2000 now appear in the Coupe as well. The coupe also has its own distinctive new front-end look, and it is BMW's interpretation of the classic Gran Turismo sports coupe.
