Description

The 1967 Mustang fastback was the perfect foundation for one of Carroll Shelby’s most popular creations: the GT500. The Shelby GT500 featured a 355-hp 428, a stiffer suspension and front disc brakes, a revised interior, and an aggressively scooped and ducted body. While only sold for three years, the GT500’s legendary power and aggressive styling make it one of the most sought-after Mustangs. And also, one of the most expensive.

This stunning red machine represents the upper limit of what is possible with a GT500 tribute build. Starting with a coupe body, it was meticulously transformed into a fastback using all-steel components. After receiving a high-quality repaint, a high-end interior was installed featuring brown leather seats, door panels, center console, and dash pad. Complementing the leather are silver dash panels and door inserts, custom gauges, a wood-rimmed Shelby steering wheel, and a manual shifter with a nitrous button.

The rest of the build is just as high end, with a dyno-tested Ford V8, Tremec transmission, adjustable four-link coilover suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and massive American Racing Shelby Cobra polished wheels. The result is a stunning GT500 tribute that’s faster, more comfortable, and more agile than the legend itself.
