Description
Chevrolet’s line of pickup trucks underwent a makeover for 1960, in both styling and model designations. Sporting an attractive wrap-around windshield, unique hood design, and a full-width pickup box as standard equipment for the first time, the half-ton truck was no longer referred to as a 3100. It was now identified as a “C10,” with the “C” being short for “conventional,” or two-wheel-drive. The “K” prefix continued to signify the presence of a four-wheel-drive pickup.
After the 1960-61 C10s moved to a quad-headlight setup, the 1962 models switched back to dual headlights. Power trains are similar to the previous “Task Force” era trucks, with choices of thrifty-yet-durable inline sixes or small-block V-8s that still work in modern traffic.
The 1962 Chevy C10 on offer underwent a full restoration that was completed in 2018-2019. The pickup is powered by 5.7-liter small-block V8 with TPI fuel injection mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission (from a 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC) and a Chevy 12-bolt rear end. The truck also has power steering, front power disc brakes, modern air conditioning, Sony stereo with Apple MP3 capability, and a white oak wood bed with polished steel runners.
