1995 Mitsubishi GTO MR Driving POV

1995 Mitsubishi GTO MR Start Up
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Japanese Domestic Market Mitsubishi GTO—and its left-hand-drive American sibling, the 3000GT VR4—were not only the most visually striking Japanese sports cars of the 1990s, they were also the most high-tech.
The GTO’s 3.0-liter V6 engine was overbuilt with a forged bottom end, and 24 valves actuated by dual overhead cams inhaled atmosphere from intercooled twin turbos. As a result, considerably more power than the 280 PS metric (276 actual) horses advertised in Japan’s “gentlemen’s agreement” was sent through a six-speed manual gearbox to an all-wheel drive system. And a strut/multilink coil-spring suspension with stabilizer bars and big brake rotors allowed for surprising agility: after clocking a 5.5-second 0-60 run in a VR4, Car and Driver exclaimed, “It delivered 0.93g grip on the skidpad and 161-foot stops from 70 mph, stunningly good from a machine of such heft.” Additionally, the JDM-spec GTO got larger turbochargers for higher power potential, and stronger internal gearbox components for improved reliability.
This right-hand-drive 1995 Mitsubishi GTO is a lightweight MR-spec model without all-wheel steering or electronic suspension, and its engine, exterior, and interior have been lightly modified for improved performance. Very few Mitsubishi GTOs have been imported to the U.S., making this a rare opportunity to own one.
