Description
Hagerty Marketplace is honored to offer a selection of vehicles from the SugarCreek Collection. This private collection in southeastern Ohio is supported by its own in-house restoration and maintenance shop, with a full-time staff of craftsmen. The garage is a true spectrum of car enthusiast dreams, ranging from unfinished restorations to the most recent SEMA-exhibited 1,000 horsepower 1962 Dodge Power Wagon. Sixteen select cars from the collection are being offered in time for the holidays. Whether awaiting restoration, preserved showroom stock, restored to like-new, or tastefully modified, these cars and trucks are truly SugarCreek quality.
Cadillac marketers were excited about the luxury automaker's 1965 model line, calling the cars' styling "So new ... so right ... so obviously Cadillac!" while reminding potential buyers that new or not, Cadillac remained the "Standard of the World."
For ’65, Cadillac announced a new De Ville series — now with a capital “D” — that included a convertible and pillared sedan for the first time. This full slate of new DeVille models effectively replaced the former Series 62 line. Subtly but superbly detailed, the 1965 Cadillacs utilized a new perimeter-frame chassis while retaining a 129.5-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 224 inches. Dual stacked headlamps were featured at the front, while only a suggestion of fins remained in the rear. Power steering, windows, and brakes were standard on all Cadillac models, and De Ville models were powered by a 429 cu-in (7.0-liter) V8 that produced 340 horsepower.
Cadillacs of this period are increasingly popular with enthusiasts, and this 1965 Cadillac De Ville Convertible upholds Cadillac’s reputation as the standard of luxury.
