Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
British icon MG (Morris Garages Limited) was founded in the 1920s as a promotional spinoff of Morris Garages, a retail sales and service center in Oxford, when business manager Cecil Kimber would modify production Morris Oxfords and add “MG Super Sports” to the plate on the nose of the car. That led to the creation of a separate company, M.G. Car Company Limited, in 1930.
Although MG produced saloons and coupés, it is best known for its open, two-seat sports cars. The MGB, successor to the MGA, was manufactured from 1962-1980 by what was then called the British Motor Corporation (BMC), and later the Austin-Morris division of British Leyland. The model became the longest-running and best-selling MG.
Why is the MGB such a favorite with classic car hobbyists? The answer is simple: It is good-looking, fun to drive and easy to maintain, plus it is backed by a fantastic network of MGB enthusiasts to provide support and share the fun of ownership.
