1974 Triumph TR6 Start-Up

1974 Triumph TR6 Ride Along
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
After series production began in 1953, the Triumph TR series would, like many long-lived models, continually evolve to meet the needs of a changing world until the end of production in 1981. During this run, the much-loved TR6—produced from 1968 to 1976—presented a striking visual update. While retaining much of the TR5's underlying Michelotti-designed structure to reduce costs, the TR6 featured significantly altered front and rear sections by Karmann of Germany, giving the car a more contemporary appearance that diverged noticeably from its predecessors. All TR6s were powered by Triumph’s 2.5-liter straight-six, which delivered robust torque and a distinctive exhaust note. The driving dynamics were improved with the use of aluminum semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension and rack-and-pinion steering derived from the TR250/TR5. Today these cars offer a compelling blend of classic styling and agile handling in an accessible package —perfect for a blast through the countryside.

Ownership History
This 1974 Triumph TR6 was reportedly purchased by the restorer in 1991 prior to conducting a full ground-up restoration from 1998-2000. The car subsequently passed to a neighbor of the restorer before joining the consignor in 2004.
