Description

By 1977 Chevrolet was building nearly 50,000 Corvettes each year, and the St. Louis plant could barely keep up. It was all that thanks to the Corvette’s wonderful combination of sleek styling, V8 power, and handling prowess. In 1977, the Corvette was equipped with a 350 cu-in V8 engine in two versions and was available with a close-ratio M21 four-speed gearbox or a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The car’s interior saw various updates in 1977, including leather seats that came as standard (leather with cloth inserts as on this Corvette was a no cost option), a new center console for the heater and air conditioning, and the steering wheel being moved two inches away from the driver. It was also the last year of the “sugar scoop” rear window treatment. Of course, there were the iconic T-Tops pioneered on the C3 Corvette which allowed open air enjoyment or all-weather comfort.

This 1977 Corvette is powered by the optional L82 210 hp V8 and M21 four-speed manual, one of the most powerful engines available in America that year. It shows just 23,592 original miles and is so remarkably preserved it earned Silver Certification from Bloomington Gold in 2014 with a score of 90.82% of “typical factory production.”
