Hagerty Marketplace is honored to offer another selection of vehicles from The SugarCreek Collection. This private collection in southwestern Ohio is supported by its own in-house restoration and maintenance shop, with a full-time staff of craftsmen. The garage is a true spectrum of car enthusiast dreams, ranging from unfinished restorations to the most recent sale of the SEMA-exhibited 1,000 HP 1962 Dodge Power Wagon, supporting the Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation. Thirty select cars from the collection are being offered just in time for spring. Whether awaiting restoration, preserved showroom stock, restored to like-new, or tastefully modified, these cars and trucks are truly SugarCreek quality.

The Ford brochure boasted, “What’s new about the new Ford V8 for 1937? It is entirely new in appearance…a brilliant new design that strikes the modern note in streamlined beauty.” That sleek look came courtesy of headlights that were recessed into the front fenders, fenders that were integrated into the body, and a V-shaped grille and windshield that smoothly flowed into the roof. Those bold design tweaks definitely gave the new model an aggressive look.
The uplevel 1937 Ford Model 78 came standard with a high-output 85-horsepower V8 to match those looks. Additionally, the Model 78 could be had in De Luxe trim, which included grille and windshield brightwork, dual wipers, taillamps, and horns, steel running boards, and black tires with available whitewalls. Inside, the De Luxe version got an upgraded steering wheel, armrests, sun visors, reading lights, glove compartment and ashtray, interior walnut grain trim, and different upholstery options for open and closed bodies. All told, Ford’s “entirely new” statement was fact, and the Model 78 was a bold statement that the buying public happily bought. This 1937 Ford Model 78 Deluxe is a solid foundation for either restoration, or hot rod customization.
