1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi
Description
The Ferrari 308 GTB was unveiled at the 1975 Paris Auto Show as a replacement for the gorgeous Dino 246, and it quickly became an icon of the 1970s and ’80s sports car era. Produced from 1976 to ’85, these 3.0-liter V8-powered sports cars represent an excellent entry into Ferrari ownership, due to their relative affordability and ease of ownership.
The 308 series can be divided into three different segments; the 1976-79 308 was carbureted, the 1980-82 GTBi and GTSi variants received Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection (which replaced the previous generations’ Weber carburetors), and the 1983 308 GTB and 308 GTS Quattrovalvole (QV) introduced four-valve heads.
The 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi (Gran Turismo Spider injection) features a targa-top body style with a removable roof panel that allows drivers to enjoy an open-air driving experience while maintaining the structural rigidity of a coupe. Its design, penned by Pininfarina, showcased sleek lines, a low profile, and the iconic wedge shape that defined many Ferrari models of the era. The interior was equally stylish, with leather seats, driver-focused cockpit, and classic Ferrari instrumentation. The car’s 2.9-liter V8 engine produced around 205 horsepower.
