1910 Hupmobile Model 20 Runabout - startup
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
After a successful career at Oldsmobile, Ford, and Regal, Robert Craig Hupp founded his own automobile manufacturing company in Detroit, Michigan, in 1909. Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in February of that year, the first Hupmobile was a four-cylinder 16.9-horsepower Runabout featuring a sliding gear transmission and designated the Model 20. In its first year, the Model 20 garnered 1,618 customers, impressing buyers with its sophistication and reliability. The world-class durability and performance of the Hupmobile were proven during a promotional tour from 1910-1912 spanning 15 months, 48,600 miles, and 26 countries in a lap around the world.
