Description
In 1969, Ford redesigned the Mustang, resulting in a larger vehicle with muscular styling. The body was lengthened by 3.8 inches and widened by almost half an inch, while the wheelbase remained the same at 108 inches. The 1969 model year also marked the first inclusion of quad headlamps inside and outside the grille opening. The traditional corralled grille pony was replaced with an off-center pony and tribars logo, and the car featured convex side panels replacing the concave ones. The fastback body style was renamed the SportsRoof in Ford's nomenclature. Naturally, this newly-restyled Mustang was popular with buyers in 1969, with over 300,000 sold.
