Description

Known around the world for their legendary reliability, versatility, and all-terrain prowess, it's fair to say Toyota Land Cruisers are one of the single most universally loved 4x4 vehicles ever built. What began as Japan’s effort to clone the U.S. military Jeep, later became Toyota’s best selling model in America with importation of the J40 series beginning in 1963. Cosmetically, the FJ remained largely the same for its twenty years in production and was offered in various wheel-bases and utility configurations, with a selection of straight-four and six-cylinder gas and diesel engines. One of the most desirable configurations among discerning collectors is the FJ43, which benefits from a longer wheelbase and additional cargo space in the rear. Treated to a comprehensive frame-off restoration, this tasteful soft-top FJ43 offers the opportunity to immediately enjoy a high quality build off-road or on.

Highlights

  • Highly sought after long-wheelbase FJ43 specification

  • Subject to a recent ground up restoration completed in 2021

  • Equipped with the tried and tested combination of Toyota’s 3.9-liter straight-six ‘F2’ engine and a four-speed manual transmission, both of which, as per consignor, are original to the truck

  • Finished in a unique period correct shade of Nebula Green over a beige canvas soft top and gray vinyl upholstery

  • Inside, a split front bench and two rear center-facing folding bench seats are trimmed in vinyl, while the rest of the interior surfaces are exposed metal sharing the same Nebula Green finish as the exterior

  • A dual range transfer case and manually locking front hubs are poised for off-road adventures

  • The truck sits on gray-painted 15-inch steel wheels shod with Lima Chaucho all-terrain tires

  • The five-digit odometer indicates 4,792 kilometers at the time of cataloging, however this is not thought to be original

Features

  • Fold-down front windshield

  • Rear-mounted spare wheel

  • Heater

  • 160-km/h speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure

  • Power-assisted drum brakes

  • Front and rear semi-elliptical leaf springs

Included

  • Single key

  • Spare tire

Ownership History

Imported to the U.S. by the current owner in 2019 prior to conducting the restoration.
