A significant chapter in the history of Japanese sports cars, the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 was introduced as the flagship model of Mitsubishi’s performance lineup with an advanced all-wheel drive system and a pioneering active aerodynamics system. Showcasing cutting-edge technology, the VR-4 was powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine delivering 300 horsepower to all four wheels. The consignor reports that the volume control for the subwoofer does not work, so the subwoofer does not power up. A new subwoofer will be included in the sale.
Two of the mounted Hoosier track tires are showing some cord wear and need to be replaced.
The consignor reports minor oil and transmission leaks upon inspection underneath, but nothing excessive. The rear turbo oil return line was replaced this year to fix an oil leak that was dripping onto the exhaust.
The consignor reports that the active aero switch sometimes doesn't work, and the "AERO" light illuminates on the dash. Turning the power off and back on usually fixes the issue and the rear spoiler angle of attack will change 15 degrees when the 50 MPH speed requirement is met.
The consignor reports there is a crack in the passenger side rocker panel due to a jack incident which is visible under the door. It has been repaired and a photo can be seen in the photo gallery.
