2008 Ford Mustang CS/GT
Description
As one of America’s favorite muscle cars, there have been some truly extraordinary variants of the Ford Mustang since it was first introduced in April of 1964. An immediate success, by 1967 Ford dealers in California sold more new Mustangs than any other state - certainly deserving of commemoration! Inspired by the 1967 Shelby GT notchback coupe prototype better known as “Little Red”, Ford would build just over 4,100 California Special Mustangs for 1968 to celebrate their best-selling market. Fast forward nearly 40 years later and the California Special would make a comeback in 2007, yet this time it would be sold across the country. Similar to the original, this model offers side scoops inspired by those on the Shelby GT500 and a revised front fascia sitting lower than the standard GT which also provides greater cooling. Immediately recognizable from your standard GT, the California Special features a signature ram-air hood scoop and a more aggressive rear diffuser with special stripe and badging options. Built from 2007 to 2009, the second-generation California Special was available in Fastback or Convertible configuration.
