Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The third generation (C3) Corvette was introduced in 1968 and featured a sleek new design that was heavily inspired by the Mako Shark II concept, designed by Larry Shinoda. This new generation also boasted a completely redesigned interior, which helped the C3 achieve new sales records for General Motors. The curvy exterior design is highlighted by the iconic pop-up headlights that are concealed via a vacuum-operated system. The C3 Corvette utilized many of the already proven chassis components from the previous generation, providing independent suspension and a range of powerful V8 engines. In 1980, the front and rear bumper covers were restyled with brand-new integrated aerodynamic spoilers that significantly reduced drag and increased radiator airflow.
For the final year of C3 production, a new L83 “Cross-Fire” fuel-injected 5.7-liter (350 cu-in) Chevy small-block V8 with Computer Command Control, paired with a new 700-R4 four-speed automatic transmission, powered the 1982 Corvette (before the introduction of the C4 in 1984, which also used this advanced engine). This very original Corvette is finished in rare 1982-only Silver Green, one of only 723 produced in this color, over an equally uncommon Silver Green Leather interior.
