Retro Motors Collection
Description
The Acura NSX was truly a revelation when it first appeared in America in 1990 – the mid-engined supercar remained at the cutting edge of performance for 15 years thanks to consistent model revisions and styling updates. The first of these improvements arrived in 1995 with the introduction of the NSX-T, a removable targa-top body style featuring a reinforced frame for greater chassis rigidity and drive-by-wire throttle among other changes. Major performance upgrades followed in 1997, with an increase in displacement of the all-aluminum V6 from 3.0 to 3.2 liters, as well as the adoption of a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. Nearing a decade in production, the NSX received its final and most substantial visual update in 2002, including a switch from pop-up headlights to fixed units, wider rear tires, and revised front and rear valances. Today, the original NSX – especially late-production examples like the vehicle offered here – offer an enticing entry point into supercar performance without the temperamental drivability and expensive repair bills of its more exotic counterparts.
This car is part of the Retro Motors Collection, which comprises over 30 cars largely from the 1950s through today, with a focus on American muscle and high-powered European sports cars. View the full collection here.
