1937 Plymouth Deluxe Tour Sedan Walk Around

1937 Plymouth Deluxe Tour Sedan Ride Along
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
This Plymouth Deluxe Tour Sedan, a superb example of Plymouth’s most popular 1937 model, is confirmed by its Chrysler Corporation Production Record as having been completed on January 15, 1937 at the Detroit, Michigan plant. Its delivery destination is noted as Minneapolis, Minnesota with the original selling dealer noted as “Johnson”, most likely Bud Johnson Plymouth and DeSoto, the area Plymouth distributor. Remarkably for a sedan of this era, this Plymouth has been treated to a Concours quality, no-expense-spared restoration resulting in one of the finest representations of a pre-war Plymouth in existence today.
Having been discovered in a Kingman, Arizona barn in October 2000, the Plymouth was initially treated to a hobbyist restoration to get it back on the road, before being acquired by the current owner, a devoted Plymouth collector, in 2009. A decision was made to undertake a painstakingly detailed and highly correct restoration to Concours standards, a project that would take some 10 years to complete! This meticulous restoration work was undertaken by Mike Mancini’s American Muscle Car Restoration, Inc., in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. A thick file comprising hundreds of pages of detailed restoration receipts documents the incredible efforts undertaken during that period to bring every aspect of the Plymouth to its current state of presentation. The end result, some $350,000+ later, must be one of the finest pre-war Plymouth automobiles in existence. Truly a labor of love, this car is a testament to its owner’s love for and devotion to the Plymouth marque. It is a superb representation of the type of car typically seen on American streets during the late 1930s, a time when Plymouth was the third most popular car in America. Highlights
