Hagerty Marketplace is honored to offer another selection of vehicles from The SugarCreek Collection. This private collection in southwestern Ohio is supported by its own in-house restoration and maintenance shop, with a full-time staff of craftsmen. The garage is a true spectrum of car enthusiast dreams, ranging from unfinished restorations to the most recent sale of the SEMA-exhibited 1,000 HP 1962 Dodge Power Wagon, supporting the Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation. Thirty select cars from the collection are being offered just in time for spring. Whether awaiting restoration, preserved showroom stock, restored to like-new, or tastefully modified, these cars and trucks are truly SugarCreek quality.

“Flair-fashioned... and alive with beauty!” Dodge knew it had a winner in its 1955 lineup. Gone was the frumpy look of the previous cars with its introduction of the "Forward Look" design by Virgil Exner. This design featured sleek, modern lines and a lower, more aerodynamic profile compared to previous models.
The Royal Lancer Convertible was part of Dodge's top-tier Custom Royal series, which also included hardtops and sedans. It was powered by the “Super Red Ram” V-8 engine, a 270 cubic-inch first-generation Hemi rated at 183 horsepower, making it a strong performer with success in NASCAR and USAC stock car competition as proof. The engine could be paired with the two-speed PowerFlite automatic transmission, which was operated via a unique dashboard-mounted selector lever.
The 1955 Royal Lancer Convertible boasted eye-catching tri-color paint schemes and distinctive chrome accents, including a split grille and flashy side trim. The interior was equally luxurious, offering options like power steering, power brakes, and a four-way power seat. The Royal Lancer drove like a champion, too, with advanced handling capabilities. The front suspension was re-tuned for better performance, and the power steering system provided more precise control. “So very new! So very special! So very far ahead!”
